Terms and Conditions.
“Global Educational Guardians” Global Educational Guardians Ltd., Registered address: 17 Bishops Court, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN4 8XL, UK
“Parent” The Parent or legal guardian of the Student
“Student” The child of the Parent
“Homestay” The Household approved and appointed, following a rigorous safer recruitment process, undertaken by Global Educational Guardians Ltd to provide accommodation for, and care of a student during exeats, half-terms or at the beginning or end of term.
“School” Educational Institution at which the Student is placed
“Student Expenses Deposit” The deposit held by Global Educational Guardians for payment of disbursements on behalf of the Student.
Global Educational Guardians obligations
To liaise with the school, Homestay, parents and educational agents throughout the duration of guardianship agreement, and to provide the school with consent for activities to be undertaken by the student.
To provide adequate homestay accommodation when required for the student (half terms, exeats and school holidays).
To ensure that all guardianship personnel and personnel offering outsourced services who come into direct contact with students in our care, are recruited using Safe Recruitment Practices and are formally screened through the Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau.
To arrange transportation for airport transfers to and from school and transportation where necessary for the student to and from the host family for half terms, exeats and school holidays as required.
The parents named on the Application Form confirm that they legally entitled to act as guardians to the student, and able to instruct Global Educational Guardians to act on their behalf in providing guardianship care to their child.
Global Educational Guardians will have no such responsibility if the Student is under the care of the Parents, School or outside of the UK, or has disregarded the policies set out in the Global Educational Guardians Handbook.
The Parents further agree the following:
That Global Educational Guardians can act on their behalf in their absence, “in loco parentis”, with our express authority to act in any situation, including in the event of emergencies. The Parents also agree that Global Educational Guardians Ltd may sign on their behalf if permission is required for anaesthetic and/or surgical treatment. Whilst every effort will always be made to contact parents in the event of an emergency, this may not always be possible.
That Global Educational Guardians Ltd will sign on parent’s behalf when reasonable school requests are received for parental/guardianship permission for your child to participate in school activities or excursions.
That all bookings and payments to Homestays will be handled via the Global Educational Guardians offices and no approaches will be made direct.
That a general minimum standard of behaviour is required from the student. Serious or continual misconduct could lead to the expulsion of the student from the school and/or termination of the guardianship agreement by Global Educational Guardians Ltd.
That the guardianship agreement shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and that it shall be effective from the “Start Date” above assuming that Global Educational Guardians Ltd have received cleared funds in accordance with the terms hereof.
The parents agree with Global Educational Guardians Policies as set out in the Global Educational Guardians Parents Handbook
To be responsible for all fees payable in due time as set out in Section 8 Schedule of Payment.
To inform Global Educational Guardians about the changes in their or students’ circumstance, such as change of address or other contact details and any changes in Student’s medical condition.
In the unlikely event of a Parent wishing to lodge a complaint about any aspect of the guardianship service, please send an email describing the complaint to
firstname.lastname@example.org in the first instance or ring +44 7926 801 393. All complaints are notified to the director, Mr Igor Urdiakov.
Any complaint is fully investigated and action taken at the earliest opportunity. Global Educational Guardians will confirm what is being done and any steps taken to prevent a reoccurrence.
Global Educational Guardians or the Parents may terminate the guardianship agreement at any time by giving to the other party one full term’s notice (apart from the final term of the Year 13, Upper 6th Form). A term’s fees must be charged by Global Educational Guardians Ltd in lieu of such notice.
In any circumstances of termination of the agreement, any credit balance of the Students Expenses Deposit will be refunded to the Parent, once all obligations and charges have been charged to the Deposit.
If the Student is excluded from the School, then Global Educational Guardians will be released immediately from its obligations to the Parent or Student and the Parent shall not be entitled to any refund of fees. A separate agreement must be executed for any new arrangement between Global Educational Guardians and the parents of the student.
Extent and Exclusion of Global Educational Guardians’ Responsibilities
Global Educational Guardians will inspect and check Homestays as in Point 2.3 above, but cannot accept responsibility for the actions of the Homestays in relation to the student.
Global Educational Guardians cannot accept responsibility for any losses incurred or damage caused by the student to the School or Homestay or any other party at any time, and therefore the Parent should arrange insurance for the Student for loss/or damage to personal belongings and third party liability.
Global Educational Guardians is fully committed to compliance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act,1998. Therefore procedures will be followed which aim to ensure that all employees who have access to any personal data held by Global Educational Guardians Ltd, are fully aware of and abide by their duties under their duties under the data protection act 1998.
